I was calling on a lumber yard who was not buying anything from PrimeSource. Their fastener display was outdated, dusty, and unappealing. After learning more about the company, I scheduled a brief meeting with the owner. Because of my preparation and attention to his company, even though we weren't doing any business with him, turned into a two hour long discussion. By the time the meeting was finished, I was able to convert his nail and screw business to PrimeSource fasteners. I continued to expand our product line on subsequent visits. The conversion resulted in over $50K in new business.

An electrical distributor sales had become stagnant and in some cases, branch sales were minimal. I met with the buyer and the VP to come up with a business plan to jump start sales. I agreed to buy back all slow moving product. In return, I would replace the product with new tools as well as expand and reset their displays in 30 locations. Within a month, I completed all of the resets at the branches and filled them with over $50K in new product. By the end of the year, their sales with Klein Tools was over $250K from the previous year.
